The Soldier

Everywhere, Anywhere, is better than here
For here is where grief and sorrow live and flourish
Joy is strained like water, happiness like coastal sands
Love is strangled, shrieking in defiance
Swearing to rise again in blaze of glory

Soldiers of fortune, knights in shining armor
All may enter here
None ever return
Amongst the brambles of evil,
They search for the source
Of the Darkness

Demon lord, Wicked queen
Why must you destroy all
Horrid, ugly, wild
You care nothing for the world
Stay in you abodes, for I come

Dark woods, dark thoughts
Reaching, grabbing, twining branches
Slithering, sliding, venomous beings
Stealing life
And hope of death

A lost soul, wanderer in a strange land
Searching for a forgotten dream
A forgotten fear
A forgotten rage
A forgotten danger

So I came, and I rested
Upon the whirling waters
A cloud, black and damp
Encircled my heart
Trying to carry my soul away

A face, an image
I see now my deliverer
Weapon with which to defeat this evil
Which stands before me
Sucking w soul away

I raise my voice, and sing
The notes are sweet and sour
My song splits the void
An awesome power
From which I learn the truth

I am scared
I know who I am
